Granite statues

Silvered solid granite statues
Crumbling so slowly with time
Fingers pointing to each other
Yet never knowing why

Raised by talented artists' hands
Graceful moments captured until forgotten
Time takes its toll on stone
And sends it tumbling to the earth

Idols cast of pure emotion
Into rock so void of life
Then recalled with passing glances
Time smoothing jagged edges

Until at last the story's lost
And only shapes remain
Watching time reveal the cracks
As stone returns to ground.
